Ugyen Dendup is a young tech student at GCIT who’s already making a big impact. Ugyen got into tech by leading a robotics club that competed internationally. This helped him find mentors and powered his passion for building things and solving problems.

In 2022, Ugyen co-started NoMindBhutan, the first AI Company in Bhutan. He create AI tools and software for Bhutanese organizations like banks and airlines, building things like chatbots and automation systems.

More recently, towards the end of 2024, Ugyen started working on NoPay. This is a money platform to make sending money to Bhutan from other countries fast, safe, and cheap. He wants to help Bhutanese people abroad send money home without hidden fees and make it easy for people and businesses in Bhutan to receive money. NoPay is all about being simple, trustworthy, and clear about costs.

Besides NoPay, Ugyen has also worked on SherigAI and AI document retrieval systems that can find information in documents. Even though he’s still a student, Ugyen has learned that you don’t need to wait until you graduate to make a difference.
