My name is Phurpa Dema from Merak, a village high in the mountains. My village has a rich culture that has always inspired me. I run my own bakery where I make fresh breads, cakes, and pastries. It’s a small business, but I love serving my community with homemade treats.
I finished 12th grade in 2015. After that, I worked in schools for four years, where I discovered my love for baking. I started learning by watching online videos and trying out recipes at home.
To get better at baking, I took a 10-day training course. After that, I opened my own small bakery in the village. Since there were no other bakeries, my shop quickly became popular.
I really enjoy making fresh cakes and pastries every day. It makes me proud to be part of people’s special moments, like birthdays or celebrations. I’m happy that my passion for baking also brings joy to others.
My main goal was just to follow my love for baking, and I’m proud that I was able to open my bakery by myself, even with difficulties. Starting from nothing and building this business has been very rewarding. It wasn’t always easy, but I learned something valuable at every step. Today, I’m truly happy to see my dream come true and share it with my community.
I want to make my bakery bigger and keep providing fresh cakes and pastries to my village. Before I opened my shop, people had to go to town or buy old baked goods. Now, I’m proud to offer them fresh, high-quality treats right here. It means a lot to me to help my community in this way, and I’m excited to keep growing. My passion for baking will only get stronger.
