From Humble Roots, A Voice of Inspiration.

My name is Rada Wangmo, and I am from Trongsa. I am currently living in Sarpang. I graduated from Taktse College in 2020. Right after college, instead of looking for a traditional job like my friends, I decided to start my own business selling vegetables at the Trongsa market.

I received a lot of support and appreciation from people, including the Trongsa Lam Neten, the Dzongda, and all the staff from the Trongsa Dzongkhag. My former director and lecturers from Taktse College also encouraged me. They praised me for setting a great example for young people, as many youth today feel too shy to do this kind of work. They often end up struggling with unemployment, which can lead to substance abuse and even tragic outcomes.

I believe there are job opportunities everywhere, whether they are big or small. What truly matters is doing the work with sincerity, dedication, and hard work.

I come from a poor family and am the youngest of five siblings. My mother passed away when I was young. Today, I am proud to be independent and able to inspire other young people. I owe this to my family.

One of my biggest achievements is winning the singing competition called “Drukpai Yangpion,” which was organized by Kelzang Phuntsho, the owner of Kalapingka.

My goal is to continue singing. Even if I don’t become a famous singer, I will never stop. Singing for the last three months has been a wonderful learning experience. It has become a healing path for me, a way to express all my feelings—whether they are sad, happy, or full of dedication.

After winning this competition, I plan to continue composing songs and singing. I want to keep encouraging young people to step forward and believe in themselves, because if we are truly determined, anything is possible.
