One summer day in 2021, Tshering Peldon, 28 years old from Tshebar, Pemaghatsel thought to roll out new insights and tools to help job seekers to take the next step in their career โ€“ with a service called Druk Human Resource Services (DHRS).

Through her experience as unemployed youth, today her brainchild -DHRS aims to employ as many people as possible by solving the problems faced by people related to a shortage of laborers at their construction sites, home, and offices, amongst others.

The funder, Tshering Peldon said that supporting as many families as possible in the country and creating jobs and new opportunities are my main objectives for the low-qualification or illiterate people.

โ€œGiving business opportunities to as many youths as possible by starting new opportunities in the business field – starting from Door 2 Door services, providing jobs through DHRS as domestic workers, Sick attendants, and also day-to-day workers as painters, loaders & unloaders, electricians, Plumbers, and drivers on hiring basis,โ€ she said.

Today, she proudly says, serving Tsa-Wa-Sum by helping Bhutanese families through employment, supporting youths by introducing them to jobs, and providing them platforms to showcase their ideas and talents will be her biggest achievement.

โ€œWith DHRS, I am trying to support every individual like myself who is interested in any work but left behind because of low qualifications and lack of skills,โ€ she said, adding that a job is important for a family. As a woman, we need to think that it is not only the role of the husband to work and earn for a family but all wives are capable to support their husbands.

However, she said that DHRS-getting registered officially and setting up an office or a platform is some challenges but all interested individuals and job seekers are comfy to join.

Speaking to MyBiz, the founder shared that it is during the pandemic period when their income source from the Karaoke business was affected and stuck in Gelephu Dungkhag because of the National lockdown.

โ€œWe rented an apartment that cost Nu 7,500 per month. It was affordable when we planned as we have about Nu 35,000 per month as an income source from our entertainment business,โ€ she said.

However, with the closer of the entertainment business, they faced difficulties to adjust with their newborn child. โ€œMe, as a divorced woman with a 2-year-old baby girl, is another challenge in our relationship as we didn’t get support from my parents and relatives,โ€ she said.

Tshering shared that instead of applying for Royal Kidu for their entertainment business, they looked for jobs online. โ€œAfter some days, my husband got a job as a helper in a fabrication workshop. And I too joined as a babysitter of the same owner. We were given a small apartment where Indian workers stayed.โ€

She added that lifestyle was challenging. We shifted back to Wangdue Phodrang- my husbandโ€™s village. โ€œToday, we shifted to Thimphu with the hope of a better lifestyle,โ€ she said.

Meanwhile, she said that this is the time when once again job became important for us. This time, for us and all struggling families like us. I, with good prayers and with big vision started DHRS.
