This momentous occasion, held on the auspicious Birth Anniversary of Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen and the revered Parinirvana of Lord Buddha, marked a celebration of entrepreneurial spirit and the ingenuity of Bhutanese innovators.
Organized by the Entrepreneurship Promotion Division, Department of Employment and Entrepreneurship, under the esteemed Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Employment, the Bhutan New Venture Challenge has become a prestigious platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to showcase their creative business ideas. The challenge aims to nurture viable startups and contribute to the growth of Bhutan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The award ceremony was graced by the presence of the Honorable Minister of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Employment, along with esteemed guests, the secretary, and the director general. The event added a sense of grandeur and significance to the occasion.
In the General Category of the Bhutan New Venture Challenge 2023, HPY Animation Production House emerged as the winner, impressing the judges with their innovative approach to animation and visual storytelling.
The Runners Up position went to Yoezer Epoxy Venture, recognized for their outstanding work in epoxy resin crafts.
Bja Glamping/ BjaPing secured the First Runners Up spot with their unique offering in the field of glamorous camping experiences.
In the Student Category, Electronic Doctor Store claimed the Winner’s title with their innovative digital healthcare solutions, providing accessible medical services to all. Yenten, a promising venture in sustainable fashion, was recognized as the Runners Up for its eco-friendly clothing line.
Alongside the Bhutan New Venture Challenge awards, a product launch ceremony took place for the startups incubated at the Startup Centre. The event provided a valuable platform for these startups to showcase their products and services to potential investors, the media, and the market. The product launch aimed to establish a distinct brand identity for each startup and facilitate business connections with wholesalers and customers.
