Needrup Zangpo is a student of English literature, media, and journalism. He was the editor of Bhutan Observer newspaper and the executive director of the Journalists’ Association of Bhutan and Bhutan Media Foundation.

For brief periods in between, he was on the editorial board of Druk Journal and a communications consultant.

Needrup Zangpo is the author of Drukpa Kunley: Sacred Tales of a Mad Monk published by HarperCollins. He serves on the board of several civil society organisations and a state-owned enterprise.
