Nidup Gyeltshen

Nidup Gyeltshen is an entrepreneur from Taktse in Dragteng Gewog, Trongsa. He is the founder of Gyeltshen Bakery, a growing name in Bhutan’s bakery industry. His journey is one of vision, hard work, and a strong commitment to serving his community.

Nidup graduated with a degree in Commerce from Royal Thimphu College in 2013. He first worked as an HR Assistant at the Mangdechhu Hydroelectric Project from 2014 to 2016. But even during college, he dreamed of starting his own business. He saw a need for a bakery near the College of Language and Culture Studies in Taktse and decided to act on it.

In 2016, he submitted a proposal to the Loden Foundation, and with their support, Gyeltshen Bakery was launched in 2017. Nidup says the Loden Foundation played a key role in turning his dream into reality.

Since then, Gyeltshen Bakery has grown steadily. In 2020, Nidup received the Best Loden Entrepreneur Award, a proud moment for him and his team. The bakery now supplies fresh, quality products across Trongsa, Bumthang, Wangdue Phodrang, and Zhemgang.

In 2021, Nidup also started Gyeltshen Incense, filling a local gap in incense production. With support from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Employment, this new venture adds to his mission of building local businesses that support Bhutan’s economy.
