In July 2023, two enterprising students from Gyalpozhing College of Information Technology, Ugyen Dendup and Jample Yigzin Samdrup, embarked on a journey to leverage artificial intelligence for the betterment of industries. Fueled by their passion for AI and a determination to make a difference, they established NoMindBhutan, a dynamic startup specializing in AI-based services. Their motivation stemmed from the conviction that AI holds the key to solving some of the world’s most pressing challenges.
Prior to their venture, Ugyen and Jample honed their skills by participating in hackathons and startup accelerators. These experiences provided invaluable insights into the intricate world of entrepreneurship, allowing them to bridge the gap between their technical expertise and business acumen. Ugyen’s commitment to learning led him to take online courses and devour books on entrepreneurship and AI, further enriching his knowledge.
The path to success was not without hurdles. As a young company led by students, NoMindBhutan initially faced skepticism from potential clients. Concerns over their experience and ability to deliver results challenged their credibility. However, Ugyen diligently worked to cultivate trust with clients by maintaining transparency in the company’s operations.
“I have been fortunate to have a supportive group of clients who have given my company a chance,” Ugyen remarked. Their faith was well-placed, as NoMindBhutan quickly proved its mettle, securing referrals and gaining the confidence of a growing clientele.
Balancing academic pursuits and entrepreneurial endeavors was another formidable task. With a team of seven, Ugyen and Jample strategically delegate responsibilities, ensuring that critical tasks are prioritized. As a leader within the team, Ugyen undertakes the crucial role of making significant decisions while collaborating with experienced entrepreneurs and team members to weigh risks and benefits comprehensively.
Today, NoMindBhutan specializes in providing AI-driven automation solutions to small and medium businesses. Their services encompass high-quality AI chatbots that enhance customer support. The company is committed to expanding its portfolio, venturing into web development, testing, and production using AI technologies.
