Phuntsho Wangdi is from Riserboo, Wamrong in Trashigang. He is a passionate singer, songwriter, and music producer whose journey began in 2018 with the national singing competition Druk Super Star. What started as a leap of faith quickly blossomed into a lifelong calling, as he discovered music to be a powerful medium for expressing emotions that words alone could not capture.
Like many artists, Phuntsho’s path has not been without challenges. In 2020, a serious health issue forced him to step away from music and public life. During this period of reflection, he found new strength and clarity, eventually returning to the stage with a deeper sense of purpose.
His resilience and talent culminated in a proud milestone in 2024 when he performed at the National Day concert before His Majesty the King and the Royal Family—an unforgettable moment that symbolized both his comeback and his unwavering spirit.
“Stay true to yourself and believe in yourself,” he said, adding that with passion and dedication, we can overcome anything and always remember, the journey is the best part of life.
