Sherub Dorji

Sherub Dorji is an officer on the Political and Media Desk at the Embassy of the State of Kuwait in Bhutan. A former journalist and editor at Bhutan Broadcasting Service (BBS), Sherub has spent over a decade using storytelling to connect people, amplify unheard voices, and inspire change.

At BBS, he became known for highlighting stories from rural Bhutan, focusing on climate change, culture, and governance. His reporting earned him national journalism awards, but what mattered most to him was hearing someone in a remote village say, “Our struggles are now on the news—things will change.”

Beyond the newsroom, Sherub has worked as a lecturer, researcher, youth trainer, and civil society advocate. A Nehru-Wangchuck Scholar, he has led numerous workshops on media literacy and community engagement. He is also a popular TikTok creator, using short videos on Bhutanese history to spark curiosity among youth, building a following of over 14,000.

Whether mentoring students or contributing to diplomatic efforts, Sherub brings clarity, compassion, and conviction to his work. His journey from journalism to diplomacy reflects his deep belief in the power of stories—not just to inform, but to connect and create lasting impact.
