Leki Tenzin

Leki Tenzin is the Chief Marketing and Economic Development Officer at the Department of Marketing and Cooperatives (DAMC), under the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MoAL), Royal Government of Bhutan. A senior official plays a pivotal role in shaping Bhutan’s marketing strategies and advancing economic development initiatives, particularly in the agricultural and cooperative sectors.

Originally from Bumthang in central Bhutan, he has served the nation in various influential roles, including as the District Agriculture Officer (DAO) in Gasa and Trongsa, and as Bhutan’s Trade Consul in India. He is also recognized as the driving force behind the Bhutan Agrifood Trade and Investment Forum (BATIF), an initiative promoting trade and investment in Bhutan’s agricultural sector.

Born into a business family, Leki Tenzin combined his practical upbringing with a strong academic foundation. He holds a Master’s degree in Tropical Science with a specialization in Agricultural Extension Services, and is a registered expert member on trade facilitation with the United Nations.

Beyond his professional career, Leki Tenzin is a passionate poet and lifelong learner. His love for poetry began in childhood and has remained a cherished personal pursuit. His debut publication, The Path We Never Took, reflects this enduring passion and marks his entry into the literary world—an endeavor he intends to continue.

He currently lives in Thimphu with his family, where he balances his official responsibilities with writing and reading, finding joy in both his service to the nation and his creative expression.
